I N D E P E N D E N C E J A M

On Saturday I went to the 94.9 Independence Jam!
It was such a genuine and glorious event.
The bands were as follows:
Dead Feather Moon
The Colourist
Royal Teeth
American Authors
Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr
Smallpools
Cage the Elephant

It was at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater and was gorgeous! There were two stages and both were on the cement right before the sand at the beach. Radical.

You know when you hear music and your soul starts to flutter and you just want to scream to the world that you feel good?

That was this concert.

I felt good.

When Royal Teeth played their final song they yelled out to the audience "let's have some fun!" And started dancing and singing. It was so lively and real. They honestly just wanted to have fun. That's exactly what we need sometimes.
FUN.

They also let out confetti at the end and that simple thing made me so happy that I giggled and smiled and danced and just loved life.

Overall it was a grand night.
Rand, Keith & good tunes.

you

d i f f e r e n t

This states everything I feel so perfectly.

Sometimes I just want something to be mine and only mine.

Have you ever felt like all you can ever do is reuse ideas and stories and styles and L I V E S?

I especially feel this about my artwork. All of the biggest artists of the world have their own unique styles. They do something so innovative and creative that it is officially THEIRS. No one else can take credit for their art and no one else can take credit for their style.

I believe that creating something fresh, new, and beautiful is the greatest feeling this world has to offer. Imagine giving birth to your very own child. Imagine creating a piece of artwork unlike anything else in the world. Imagine writing a book about a story that only you could think up. Imagine accomplishing something no one else has done before.

You are infinite.

Do something worthy of your potential.

S A N T A C R U Z I S L A N D

As a last hoorah to summer, my family and I traveled to Ventura and then over to Santa Cruz Island for an adventure. And let me tell you, it lived up to my hopes and dreams and then some. Simply breathtaking is the only way to describe it.

Watch our video https://vimeo.com/73015369 & enjoy the many pictures of our time on the channel islands.

prepare for muchos pictures.

Ariel is my favorite princess of all time, ever. ♥

My momma is a sweetie pie. I had originally begged and begged to go to the Oregon coast but we ran out of time and on a last whim my beautiful momma planned a camping trip to Santa Cruz for us and I love her dearly for that. It was a rad adventure for us all.

My best buddy & I at the Channel Islands visitors center.

Skating & Sunsets are quite the combination.

I adored this boat so much.

This was basically the greatest thing I have ever seen in my whole life. So many birds!
Fun Fact: There are more Stillwater birds than the domesticated chicken.

I have really started to embrace my hair. Curls fer lyfe.

Santa Cruz Island

The snorkeling in Santa Cruz was AMAZING. We went right off the pier and immediately were with schools of fish, sea lions and harbor seals all enjoying their days among the rest of the kelp forest creatures. It was quite the sight to see.

These little critters were called island foxes and they were little devils! We had to make sure all of our stuff was stored safely or they would steal clothes and all other items they deem interesting. & when we slept under the stars they came and hung out with us.
twas a grand reunion.

Let me tell you about this sunset. It was so gorgeous I just stared at it with my mouth open for nearly a half hour. So amazing. We hiked up to the top of Cavern Point and basked in the glory of this earth.
Nature is cool.

These next photos are all taken on film disposable cameras & I love them.

I left my ♥ on Santa Cruz.

Someday I will get with a boy who loves adventure as much as me and we will travel there and explore the beauties of planet earth. Until then I will look back on this trip with fond memories.
